“Seek And You Shall Find” – How Actively Paying Attention Increases Coincidental Communications with God

Ever been driving and thought, “wow, I’ve seen a lot of red Toyotas today”? That usually happens because you are thinking about a red Toyota. It’s called the The Frequency Illusion (also known as the Baader–Meinhof phenomenon) which is a cognitive bias in which a person notices a specific concept, word, or product more frequently after recently becoming aware of it. Read more on that here.

Matthew 7:7 (and in yet another incredible coincidence with the Seven Spirits) says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

In other words, all you have to do is make an effort and try. Just take a moment to think about God. Knock on His door, and he will open it. He wants to open it. He wants to have the relationship with you. He wants to communicate with you. You just need to start paying attention, notice coincidences, acknowledge them, and go knock of that door.

All praise be to God, -Michael
