The Seven Spirits of God’s Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ are directly connected to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Here we explain how, one Spirit at a time.
1. Spirit of Knowledge
Connection to the Resurrection: Mary Magdalene, Doubting Thomas and all Twelve of the Apostles came to know the risen Lord personally. God invites believers into a deeper, experiential knowledge of the living Christ.
2. Spirit of Understanding
Connection: The disciples did not initially understand the Resurrection (Luke 24:45: “Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.”). God imparts spiritual understanding to grasp the true meaning of salvation, grace, and eternal life.
3. Spirit of Wisdom
Connection: God’s wisdom turned the apparent failure of the Cross into the eternal triumph of life.
4. Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ
Connection: God’s supreme authority over death was demonstrated – Christ did not merely survive death, He conquered it by way of God’s Holy Spirit. The Bible’s Book of Romans, Chapter 8, Verse 11 says: “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal body through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
5. Spirit of Counsel
Connection: Jesus, after rising, counseled the disciples (Emmaus Road, Upper Room, Galilee) on what to do next. The risen Christ becomes the Divine Counselor, guiding the Church toward its mission.
6. Spirit of Might
Connection: Resurrection is the ultimate display of power — overcoming death, sin, and the grave. The Spirit’s power shows God’s might is not destruction but resurrection.
7. Spirit of reverent Fear of the Lord
Connection to the Resurrection: The empty tomb provoked awe, reverence, and trembling joy. God is not just loving and holy, he is eternally alive. Mark 16:8 says: “And they fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; and at first, they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.”
The Resurrection was a full activation of the Seven Spirits of God’s Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, demonstrating what God’s Holy Spirit can do for you, personally, if He dwells in you.
